IWSG: October 2016

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time.

You guys remember my trusty assistant Tucker, right?

Doesn't look 75 lbs., does he?
Recently, we took a trip to the vet and discovered he had a torn CCL (dog ACL) and dislocating kneecap. Poor baby. So, we were referred to a surgeon an hour and a half away, who recommended immediate surgery--which also meant immediate payment.

Gulp.

He's been absolutely miserable, and we haven't even gone back to get the stitches out yet. After that, we'll have months of recovery before he can get back to his playful, romping self. Thus, my attention will be divided for a bit...

Somehow, in the midst of this, I finished the earthquake novel. It's off with CPs, soon to be passed on to my editor, and then it'll be in the hands of betas. In the meantime, I designed the cover and related promotional material. Small victories, right?

On that note, if anyone wants to share the cover via any digital means (blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.) on October 17th, I'd be oh so grateful for the help. Just fill out this quick form, and I'll send you the information by the 12th. :) Thank you!

That's why I took a 1st aid course, so I'd be able to remove stitches and such. Saved a ton of money because I had several dogs and several sons, and they were always getting banged up. Can't tell you how many stitches I've removed. It got so that even residents out here at the lake were stopping by. Congratulations on your new release, Carrie. My book tour starts the same day... or I'd sign up. Cant this time. Next time!

I hate those trips to the vet. Which reminds me, we're well overdue for one. *Yikes* Good luck with the pups and I hope he recovers well!

Poor guy!
Awesome you were able to finish the novel. I don't do cover reveals anymore, but be glad to shout to the world when it's released.

Carrie! I'm so sorry about your little guy.

I'm not doing cover reveals right now--too much insanity around my own book release, but I am booking Truth or Lie features into next year. Let me know when your book is releasing and I'll pen you in for one. (crystal@crystal-collier.com)

Hope your dog's going to be okay. >_< That's great that you've still managed to get a lot done through all this, but sick pets are the worst. Hope he heals quickly!

@Joylene - Wow! Talk about self-reliance. That's so smart! :) Thank you, and good luck on your tour!

@Madeline - Thank you! :)

@C.D. - Eek. Good luck with your visit, too. Thank you!

@Alex - Thanks, Captain!

@Crystal - I totally get that. I've taken a prolonged hiatus from the blogging world myself. Truth or Lie sounds good, though! Thank you. :)

@Mason - Thank you! I appreciate that.
